That is information about eight
months old. I do not know what
happened in Conference Committee
report. If we were to seek authorization--
the newspapers and interested groups
might have something to say--Fish
and Wild Life--I think we would be
duty bound to take this status
report to interested Federal agencies.
If Colorado wishes, tell us to
proceed and secure reaction of other
interests-Federal agencies."

MR. FINLINSON: "In case of Smith Fork, we have
to make definite plan reports. It
will be detailed investigation
bringing up everything necessary
to go into construction. The same
is true for Curecanti. We cannot
ask for construction funds until
we complete this detailed investigation."

MR. PUGHE: "How long would it take to work up
that Curecanti report?"

MR. FINLINSON: '~ell, I think it would take about one
and one-half years. We have programs
of about that length."

MR. PUGHE: "Do you have plenty of money for office
personnel to make that report?"

MR. FINLINSON: "We will have to take it away from other
projects."

MR. MOSES: "I would like to suggest, because of the
concern about Curecanti, that the Director
call Congressman Aspinall in Washington,
and get a report for us as to what
actually is the status of the latest report."

MR. PUGHE:

"I will ask Mr. Crawford to call Mr.
Aspinall. He is on the Conference Committee,
isn't he?"

"We will leave the matter right now. Does
anybody have any further suggestions at this
time?"

MR. PETERSON:

"While we are on the subject, this telephone
conversation relates to Curecanti alone.
We can proceed with the .rest of the
participating projects."
