The estimated total cost of the project is $267,900.
. Please see the attached project summary and map.

Backqround
The ANLDC, located in Mesa County, operates the Appleton Northwest Lateral for the benefit of its
shareholders by providing delivery of water for irrigation within a 250-acre service area. The lateral is
located about 5 miles northwest of Grand Junction and is a carrier ditch for water from headgate 369
off the Main Line Grand Valley Canal (GVIC Main Line). The lateral consists of about 3.2 miles of
mostly dirt ditch in poor condition. Concrete portions of the ditch are cracked so that the ditch leaks
significantly, and areas of the system are prone to fiooding problems. The ANLDC plans to rehabilitate
the Lateral under the salinity program. An underground pipeline will replace the existing ditch.

Feasibility Studies
The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has provided a preliminary engineering
evaluation and cost estimate for rehabilitation of the ditch. The feasibility study was completed by the
ANLDC and includes an evaluation of alternatives available for rehabilitation of the lateral.

The Appleton Northwest Lateral & Drainage Corporation
The ANLDC is a mutual ditch company and a non-profit corporation registered in the State of
Colorado. There are 28 shareholders and 28 shares of stock. The ANLDC has the power to set
annual assessments to be paid by the shareholders and the power to refuse to deliver water to
shareholders that fail to pay their assessments.

.

Water Riqhts
The ANLDC owns no water rights. The Appleton Northwest Lateral is a carrier ditch for water
shares out of the GVIC Main Line. Shareholders of the ANLDC own a total of 254 GVIC shares,
equal to a total flow of approximately 2.65 cfs. (One GVIC share is equivalent to 0.4 Colorado
miners inch, or 4.675 gpm.) Total diversions are about 950 acre-feet per year.

Flood Protection. Water Supply Planning and Finance. Stream and Lake Protection
Water Supply Protection.
