Surface Water Model (Hvdrosohere) <br />Hydrosphere has obtained STATEMOD, Hydrobase and appropriate DMI's and installed and <br />tested the system. They have worked with RTI on version updates and some fixes to these tools, <br />Development of the required water district structure lists has begun. Task 2 work includes the <br />identification of the study period and the data review, hydrologic analysis, drought index <br />analysis and development history work have all been initiated. A number interviews with ditch <br />companies and water commissioners have also been completed. <br /> <br />4. Consumotive Use Model and Water Budget (Leonard Rice Consulting and ArgO Engineering) <br />Argo Engineering has obtained the satellite imagery required and initiated processing and <br />identification of the areas associated with each ditch system. Argo has also begun collecting the <br />required climatic data. Leonard Rice Consulting has begun identification of non-district parcels <br />as well as done some climate data collection and data gap filling. Efforts to calibrate the Blaney- <br />Criddel consumptive use model to the Rio Grande Basin and incorporate the Hargreaves <br />consumptive use model into the RGDSS have also been initiated. <br /> <br />5. Soatial Svstem Integration and Technical Assistant (HDR Engineering) <br />GIS coverages acquired at this time include topography, hydrologic unit maps, and the SL V - e <br />GWM. These coverages are completely installed and awaiting fina1 QA\QC and documentation. <br />Coverages for stream gage, wells, climate stations, diversion headgates and dam and reservoir <br />locations are being developed from Hydrobase. Water District, Range-Township-Section, <br />Division 3 structures, County Boundaries, Lakes and streams, and most of the DEM's for the Rio <br />Grande WCD have been acquired and are being installed and checked, Well File analysis work <br />has been initiated. <br /> <br />6. Relational Svstem Integration <Riverside Technology) <br />Development of a general data flow overview document has been completed. RTI is currently <br />working on a detailed data flow document for the surface water model. The well permit files <br />have been put into Hydrobase so that comparisons to the water rights tabulation can begin. <br />Work has been initiated to add well infonnation to the DMI utilities. Assistance has been <br />provided to other consultants with respect to any software problems encountered in the process <br />of moving CRDSS elements to the RGDSS. <br /> <br />7, Other Activities <br />Twelve new stream gages and eight new irrigation diversion gages have now been installed and <br />agreements between the Rio Grande Water Conservation District and the State Engineer's Office <br />for the operation and maintenance during the 3-year development period tentatively agreed on. <br />An agreement between the Rio Grande Water Conservation District and the State Engineer's <br />Office for the long term observation of nineteen new monitoring wells has also been tentatively .. <br />agreed on. The computers to implement the Administration Tool for the State Engineer's Office .. <br />
