An expenditure of $2,000,000 was authOJ;ized for year 1 work. Six <br />contractors have been employed to do the development work during the year 1. <br /> <br />STATUS <br /> <br />The status of work under each of the contracts is as follows: <br /> <br />1. Groundwater (Contractor HRS Consulting) <br />HRS has selected the GMS visualization tool for use in the groundwater modeling effort. This <br />package has been tested and the summary memorandum required to document completion of <br />Task 1 submitted. Work on Task 2 has been initiated and the State's San Luis Valley <br />Groundwater Model (SL V -GWM) provided to HRS. The A WDI transcripts have been reviewed <br />and a summary memorandum of the technical issues prepared. A review of the SL W-GWM has <br />begun. Work on the Task S-Sensitivity Analysis and Task 7-Hydrogeologic Data Review and <br />Database Development has also begun. <br /> <br />2, Groundwater (uSGS Joint Funding Agreement) <br />The USGS is geophysically logging the existing confmed aquifer observation well network <br />under this agreement. Also, the USGS has been asked to look at enhancements to the <br />MODFLOW groundwater model and a preliminary Scope-of-Work for this task has been <br />provided. <br />
