The continuing
effort of the CWCB's Stream ,and Lake Protection Section to protect stream flows on Colorado's
rlvel'$ and creeks is extremely important the state's environment, economy and quality of life.

Trout Unlimited is aware that certain water US<lI'S have requested that the CWeR limit its
in-stream flow appropriatiens, particularly in division seven. While TU appreciates the concern
for be Il1Ildng traditiolllll, consumptive uses of water with in-sti:eam flew use, we note that it has
been nearly 20 years since the Board made any in-stream flow appropriations in division seven
and that the CWCB holdsfe\VCr in-st1'eam flow rights; covering fewer streatl'l miles, in division
seven than any other water division. It is a mistake to overlook this environmentally-important
region of Colorado, and TU encourages the CWCB to diligently pursue new in-stream flow
appropriations in division seven, as it should in all of the state's water divisions.

Trout Unlimited and i!$ 8500 Colorado members greatly appreciate the efforts of the
CWCS's Streain and Lake Protection Section to preserve and improve Colorado's fisheries ,and
natural environment, and we look forward to continuing to work with you to protect the, tivers
and ereek:s that are so valuable to our state.
