Initiate a cOOl'dination process with the Stream and Lake protection and Floodplain sections to identify existing gaging stations that would benefit from a flood hardening program, low flow and high flow warning systems along with compact administration and issues revolving around endangered fish, Overall CWCB Gaging Program Goals The CWCB's overall gaging program will be further developed and refined next year during the long-range planning process and will focus on the following more generalized issues and goals: . Development of a process by which the Board, DWR, USGS and other stakeholders cooperatively strengthen Colorado's gaging program, while meeting the needs and missions of all entities, Such a process will require regular meetings to enable the CWCB and other entities to be informed, especially in instances when the USGS, DWR, and(or other entities can no longer fund a gage that may be important to one of the CWCB program areas, . Development of a comprehensive list of streams that the CWCB has identified for gaging, and coordination with other entities for usage and cost sharing purposes, . Development of a long term gaging plan for CWCB in cooperation with rhe DWR to identify roles and responsibilities with regard to Satellite Gaging needs within both agencies. . Identification of critical need gages that should be immediately funded as well as existing CWCB gages that will require funds for continued operation and maintenance, . Develop a strategy to deal with long term Operation and Maintenance Issues including the need for additional FI'Es for the expansion of the DWR satellite monitoring system, . Development of a CWCB gaging budget which will be requested as part of the annual projects bill process to meet CWCB's growing needs, as well as a five-year plan to begin to address the above issues and accomplish the goals, It is anticipated that private outside contracts will be required to accomplish all of the CWCB's Gaging issues and goals, .WCB Request Flood Protection.
