<br />............1Wk <br /> <br />We have completed the plans and specifi- <br />cations of the outlet works. We are negotiat- <br />ing with the OI'lnerG to relocate Colorado state <br />High\-my No. 12 and the Colorado and wyoming <br />Railroad. Negotiations are also under way with <br />LaG Animas County for the relocation of the <br />county road by the federal government. l'1i th <br />the funds which are now available and with <br />funds which we anticipate in the Fiscal 1963 <br />appropriations, we have programed the following <br />activities for fiscal '68: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The continuation of land acquisition for <br />outlet \'lorks; <br /> <br />The initial contract for the outlet works, <br />which we hope to advertise for bids in october; <br /> <br />The design contract with the Colorado state <br />High\'lay Department for the relocation of state <br />Highl'lay 12; <br /> <br />Design contract with the Colorado and <br />wyoming Railroad company for the railroad relo- <br />cation. <br /> <br />Of course, during the fiscal year we will <br />continue the land acquisition program and the <br />engineer and design of other project features. <br /> <br />I would liJ:e to turn ne;:t to the matter of <br />preconstruction planning on the Las Animas Local <br />Protection project. He commenced the precon- <br />struction planning in December 1966. We com- <br />pleted aerial survey and topographic mapping in <br />July 1967. Subsurface explorations are now in <br />progress and are e::pected to be completed during <br />the present month of september. The plans and I <br />specifications are scheduled for completion in <br />the latter part of calendar year 1963 and we <br />anticipate, in the present fiscal year, funds <br />for the completion of preconstruction planning <br />so that the project should be eligible for a <br />construction start in fiscal '69. <br />
