No. 130 <br /> <br />COLORI\DO vlATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />January 31, 1979 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, City <br />of Idaho Springs, Colorado," which includes floodplain inf.ormation <br />and data for Clear Creek, Chicago Creek, Soda Creek, and Virginia <br />Canyon, dated May, 1978, has been prepared by Black & Veatch <br />Consulting Engineers under contract with the Federal Insurance <br />Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Idaho Springs has requested the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the <br />floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses <br />on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as <br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said <br />report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, <br />this 31st day of January, 1979, that it does hereby designate and <br /> <br />APPENDIX G <br />
