No. 128 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />January 31, 1979 <br /> <br />R E ~ 0 L UTI <br /> <br />o N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Soil <br />Denver, Colorado, completed in May, 1970, <br />report entitled "Flood Plain Information, <br />Lar imer County, Colorado"; and <br /> <br />Conservation Service, <br />a floodplain information <br />Boxelder Creek Watershed, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as <br />requested by the Board of County Commissioners of Larimer County, <br />by resolution adopted June 3, 1970, approved and designated the <br />floodplains described in the May, 1970, report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, <br />Larimer county, Colorado," which includes floodplain information <br />and data for the Big Thompson River, Fall River, Fish Creek, Buck- <br />horn Creek, Redstone Creek, Dry Creek, and Boxelder Creek, dated <br />September, 1978, has been prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc., <br />under contract with the Federal Insurance Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said flood insurance study describes and outlines <br />the floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater <br />runoff channels or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County ,Commissioners of Larimer <br />County has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the <br />aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses <br />on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />APPENDIX E <br />
