L.L.Oq

I would like to ask one question. Does
this study include any additional sites which
might be considered on the tributaries of the
Platte such. as St. Vrain, Clear Creek or Boulder
Creek?"

I

MR. SPARKS:

"I would say yes. If we could find any
water in any of those tributaries. They are a
little exhausted. The Bureau is contemplating
some tributary projects plan, and just a few
months ago completed a survey which took many
years, to include the entire South Platte Basin.
Based on that report, we are trying to pinpoint
those areas of the South Platte which could be
included within the comprehensive development."

MR. SARCHET:

"Thank you. I think our stockholders would
go along with that theory in that the study
that is made now should be complete and cover
all the possibilities as to flood control,
multiple use, silting and pollution of the
South Platte watershed.

Thank you."

MR. MILLER:

"Mr. Chairman, I'd like next to call on Mr.
Hugh Sloan who is President of the Henrylynn
Irrigation District and I am proud to present
my boss and counsel for that district."

MR. SLOAN:

"Mr. Chairman, Board members and especially
our greetings to the members of the Legisla-
ture that are here. If they are going to have
to pass this appropriation, we don't want to
ignore them.

I believe the Henrylynn Irrigation District
is on record as having advoca~ed this kind of I
a study for the last ten years. It was our
board and our water users who were the princi-
pal sponsors of this last effort to organize
a conservancy district so we will go with you
100% in recommending a study of this, although
we do have some apprehensions, especially about
the Narrows Dam being down there, and that
concerns what water rights they would build up
to keep that reservoir full.
