In any investigation we would expect to be
a part, and we would expect to be a part of any
steering committee, because the work to be paid
for by the State of Colorado will "be out of
funds of which at least half corne from the
Platte Valley which is affected by this develop-
ment. However, this development is so closely
allied to the development of Denver, that the
Board of Water Commissioners has authorized
me to state that if this Board chooses to
endorse the application of state funds to this
investigation, upon terms which are consistent
with Denver's use and development of this site,
that the Board of Water Commissioners itself
will add to the state contributions finan-
cially to expedite this work. We are very
much in favor of the implementation of what
has been started here by Mr. Sparks for the
State of Colorado, at the instance of the
United States Bureau of Reclamation speaking
through Mr. Spencer."

"Thank you, Mr. Saunders. Your remarks are
now in the record. I might add that I am
heartily in agreement with this steering com-
mittee and the purpose of the steering com-
mittee,as I see it, is to avoid some of the
difficulties that we had in prior years on
the Narrows site and in other reclamation
projects in this area. I assure you that
Denver's interest will always be considered
in this regard.

Mr. Wright, the City Manager of Aurora.
Would you step over to the microphone, please?"

"In Aurora we have not pursued in as much
detail, or as early as Denver, the same in-
terest in this project and we are not quite
as well prepared. However, I believe the
City of Aurora is very much interested in this
project. I believe before many days go by you
will find the City of Aurora willing to indi-
cate their financial support of participation
in this study.
