The poll confirmed unanimous support for the
instream flow recommendations on the San Miguel from Fall to Horsefly Creek. The executive
board includes residents of various geographic areas of the San Miguel River watershed including
Norwood, Nuda, and Telluride.

The Coalition has kept abreast of the Instream Flow Assessment which has been ongoing on the
San Miguel River for the past three years. The San Mil1uel Watershed Plan published in 1998 cites
as an objective, "Within the framework of Colorado Water Law, manage instream flows to achieve
sustainable river values and resources." More than ISO residents of the San Miguel basin
participated in the process which resulted in the aforementioned management plan.

The San Miguel Watershed Coalition is a group with diverse interests, joined together in our
commitment to this place. Because our board members represent a broad constituency with a
variety of interests and views, it is important that we be well-informed. Therefore, we hope the
CWCB will add the San Miguel Watershed Coalition to your mail list and hold public hearings so
that our members may participate in this important process.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely Y.ours,

da uther
Coordinator, San Miguel Watershed Coalition

p 0 s ~ 0 r r I ~ I:' B 0)( :l 8 ,?, .....
