A brief summary of the studies is presented below.

1. FPR 01-548: Fremont County and the City of Florence, Hydrologic Analysis, Oak Creek
and Coal Creek, dated September 2000 was prepared by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It
includes detailed 100-year hydrology for Oak Creek and Coal Creek in the vicinity of Florence,
Colorado in Fremont County. There appear to be no major technical problems or issues with
the report. Florence officials are aware of the Corps study via several progress meetings and
site visits, and they are in agreement with the study. Community officials were also notified of
the CWCB's proposed designation action by letter. A meeting is scheduled for July 19, 2001 to
discuss the details of this study and an upcoming study as well. Therefore, the proposed action
for this hydrology infonnation is designation and approval by the Board in order to meet
statutory requirements.

2. FPR 01-549: City of Rifle, Colorado, Flood Insurance Rate Map, dated September I, 1978
was prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The subject map contains
approximate and detailed floodplain delineations within the City of Rifle. This infonnation has
been superseded by a more recently published FEMA map. Therefore, the proposed action for
this report for the City of Rifle is acknowledgement and rescission rescission of the 1978 Flood
Insurance Rate Map by the Board.

Flood Protection. Water Project Planning and Financing. Stream and Lake Protection
Water Supply Protection. Conservation Planning
