In the discussions with the state and federal agencies, involved with the field data coIlection, it was
recommended that streams and lakes located in Water Divisions 2, 4 and 6 would be the focus of the
Board's appropriation process in the year 2004 and streams and lakes located in Water Divisions 1
and 7 would be the focus in the year 2005. Staff has recommended that the field data coIlection
agencies begin collecting the required data for the streams and lakes in Water Divisions 2, 4, and 6
this year. This would allow the agencies approximately two years to collect the necessary data, In
addition, staff has developed the attached proposed Instream Flow and Natural Lake Level Date
Deadlines to assist staff and the state and federal agencies in moving forward with the proposed
instream and natural lake level appropriations. These proposed deadlines should help all parties
identify streams and lakes for initial and supplemental data coIlection, allow a sufficient amount of
time for the water availability analysis and up-front public involvement.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends the Board approve the above proposed 2002-03 Work Plan.
