. South Platte River Channel Project, Right-of. Way Action by the South Suburban
Park and Recreation District for the Union A venue Pedestrian Bridge, Littleton,
Colorado

INTRODUCTION

At the November 6-7, 1995, Board Meeting, approval was given to grant requests for easements in
GWGB's right-of-way along the Chatfield Downstream Channel Improvement Project on a case-by-
case basis. The Board has received a request from the South Suburban Park lUld Recreation District
(District). - Request letter attached. This request will provide the District the opportunity to
construct a bridge over the South Platte River. The Project is located within flood control channel
and does require Board approval because the proposed project is within the flood conveyance
portion of the Chatfield Downstream Channel Improvement Project.

DISCUSSION

During the Board review for this request, staff recommended that the center pier for the bridge be
eliminated from the project design. The District agreed with the Board recommendation and will
re-submit the proposed project to the Board for consideration at the GWen July 200 I Meeting,

PROPOSED ACTION

Staff recommends that this request from South SuburblUl Park and Recreation District (District) be
tabled to a future CWCB Meeting.
