262 "After due consideration~ it was moved, srconded and carried unani- mously that because of the fact the matter has progressed so far, this Board feels it should inte~pose no objection to the proposed diversion, but with the clear and distinct understanding this consent shall not be considered as waiver of objections to any other federally financed trans-mountain diversion of the waters of the Colorado River; and with the further understanding that the State Water Conservation Board of the State of Colorado shall not approve of any I~,.' other such federally financed diversion project until the studies of the needs of the Western Slope be fully completed so that an intelligent decision rela- tive to such needs may be given. We feel that after the many and long delays in making such studies and the promises made by some ~igh'1~ authority in the Reclamation Service, .the'~esternrSlope'is entitled to have such studies com- pleted in the very near future, and that no further federally financed trans- mountain diversions should be made without the completion of such investigations. "This consent and approval is made because this Board is aware of the great and urgent need of Pueblo, Colorado Springs and other nearby cities in the Arkansas Valley for addit~onal water, and our desire to act the part of a good neighbor to these cities. Sexton" <if- The Colorado River Water Conservation District Board, as shoven by its resolution which has been placed in the record of this meeting, requests the Co16rado Water Conservation Board to amend Article IV of the report of the Policy and Review Committee by the insertion of certain language which is underscored for identification. It is understood that such inserted and addi- tional language, identified by underscoring, ,viII be shown in ihe resolution of the Colorado River Water Conservation Districi Board as inserted in this record. It was moved by Judge Dan H. Hughes and seconded by C. J. McCormick that'the resolution submitted by the Colorado Rive~ Water Conservation District be accepted and approved as a policy of the Colorado ~ater Conservation Board. on vote being taken, the motion unanimously carried and was declared adopted. It was moved by Dan B. Hunter and seconded by John ~. Cross, that the resolution su15mitted by the Southwestern Water Conservation ~strict be accepted and approved as a policy of the Colorado Kater Conservation Board. On vote being taken, the motion unanimoaaly carried and was declared adopted.
