WRDA 1996) <br />Arkansas River, Pueblo Fisheries Habitat Restoration - $412,000 -- 2,300,000 - FY 05 McInnis <br />IJ IO mile-long restoration project on the Arkansas River from Pueblo Darn to the <br />1-25 crossing downstream of Pueblo. Features include a 2,500 foot-long fish ladder/ <br />passage comprised of ca. 60 boulder clusters (each cluster 4 8-foot diameter boulders) <br />to create pools and riffles for fish habitat. Other features include 10 W-weirs for grade <br />control, and 20 J-hooks to stabilize outside stream banks and minimize erosion. To build up <br />the inside banks, a series of vegetated sand bars will be constructed. They consist of I-foot layers <br />of sand wrapped in geotextile blankets and placed stair-step fashion against the bank.
