It is just a desire <br />to have the Board see what is going on <br />before any further expenditures are made. <br /> <br />May we have the question?" <br /> <br />MR. CHRISTY: <br />MR. MOSES: <br /> <br />"Question." <br /> <br />"All those in favor signify by saying <br />'aye'; opposed the same." <br /> <br />The motion passed unanimously upon vote. <br /> <br />Mr. Moses spoke to the nominees of the Water Investi- <br />gation Commission, telling them that while all they had heard <br />were questions and objections which might indicate the atti- <br />tude of the Board was entirely negative to the proposal of the <br />Commission, this was not the case at all.. He stated that on <br />behalf of the Board he wanted to thank the Water Congress and <br />the members of the Commission for the work already done; that <br />the remarks they had heard were only out of a desire on the part <br />of the Board to fulfill its obligations; that he believed the <br />proposal and commission was a wonderful thing and would have <br />remarkable results. <br /> <br />MR. MOSES: <br /> <br />"Do you want to make your report now, <br />Mr. Sparks?" <br /> <br />MR. SPARKS: <br /> <br />"The staff of this Board has been aware <br />of the need for commencement of the Glen <br />Canyon Reservoir study at the earliest <br />possible date. Mr. Kuiper, whom I believe <br />to be one of the most competent hydraulic <br />engineers in the State, will corne to work <br />for the Board next week and he will be given <br />the primary responsibility of completing <br />the Glen Canyon study. <br /> <br />I have been in recent consultation with <br />Mr. Goslin, Secretary-Engineer of the Upper <br />Colorado River Commission, and I am advised <br />that the Commission has been studying this <br />problem for several months past. <br /> <br />As Mr. Barnard has already stated, the <br />State of California has already commenced a <br />
