737

I

feeling that the entire State of Colora-
do would be interested, we asked that Mr.
Dexheimer, Commissioner of the Bureau of
Reclamation and his staff give us a com-
plete report with regard to Fruitland
Mesa, Curecanti, etc. Mr. Dexheimer has
come all the way from Washington, D. C.
to be with us. Mr. Dexheimer."

MR. DEXHEIMER:

"Mr. Crawford, gentlemen. I don't
propose to go into detail as to just what
our projects are but I think it would be
helpful to all of us to have a little
closer understanding of what the Bureau
has done and what we are trying to do in
Colorado.

As you all know, we have been working
and building projects in Colorado for a good
many years. We have, over the years,
spent a lot of money on investigations
of those projects and I think, as soon as
they have shown the projects are feasible,
we have so reported and endorsed them and
gone ahead with construction as soon as we
could get necessary approval and appropria-
tions.

I

I see the Governor just came in. May-
be I should turn the meeting over to him."

Governor McNichols was greeted by the assemblage but
he asked Mr. Dexheimer to continue.

MR. DEXHEIMER:

"I was just talking a little bit about
the Bureau's work in the past. Particularly
