'As you know I am extremely interested that the State
Water Conservation Board continue to exercise the
powers and leadership which I believe our Legisla-
ture meant it to have. This involves not only the
conservation of water but future plans and I shall
look forward to talking many of these over with you
during the Fall.'

MR. PETERSON:

"Is there anyone else that 'would
like to make a statement before we
adjourn?"

MR. NELSON:

"I thought we were planning on
going to the San Juan Basin for a
meeting."

MR. CRAWFORD:

"That was discussed for this meet-
ing but we decided to hold it in Denver
for the convenience of our Congressional
Delegation and the Bureau officials,
however, I see no reason why we couldn't
go there for a meeting."

Mr. H. H. Christy, Colorado Director of the National
Reclamation Association, reminded the Board of the meeting
of the NRA to be held in Phoenix, November 6, 7 and 8 and
invited all of the members to attend. He spoke of the arti-
cle in the September issue of Nation's Business against
Western reclamation projects, and also of another article
in the Wall Street Journal on the same subject. He strongly
urged that the Board pass a resolution against such arti-
cles; that such action was needed as an answer to this type
of article.

"Would someone like to move the
adoption of a resolution on the lines
suggested by Mr. Christy?"

MR. W.M. WILLIfu\~: "I so move."

M.R. PETERSON:

MR. PETERSON: "We can have our attorney draw up
such a resolution." .

MR. STAPLETON:

"Second the motion."

Upon vote, the motion was unanimously passed.

Mr. Mullin said that after the articles appeared
Senator Allott and Senator Carroll talked it over with the
other Congressional Delegation and that a study is presently
being made pointing up the opposite side of the case for the
western reclamation projects, which is to be published soon.
