3. The La Plat.. projeot. This is a projeot in Southwestern
Colero.do, oensisting of two units, namely, (1) Long Hollow reser-
voir, to serve lands in Colorado, and (2) state Line reservoir, te
serve lands in New Mexioo. Suoh projeot has not been authorized
but has been under study for many years and a final projeot report
is expeoted soon; ..nd it is reoognized that the opero.tion of the ,La
Plato. Compaot between Colorado and New Mexioo and the serious losses
in orops and land values due to laok of water supplies, make
neoessary the earliest possible authorization and oonstruotion
of this projeot.

irrigation water supplies and for new Lands near Manoos, Colorado,
suoh projeot having been authorized under the Water Utilization
program (Case-Wheeler), and having been under oonstruotion during
the war periect with oonscientious objeotor labor.

4. The Pine River EXtension. This projeot provides for
oanals and improvements to make available water stored by' the
presently oonstruoted Valleoito reservoir, looated in the San
Juan Basin, to lands whioh may be irrigo.ted with suoh water sup-
plies. A final report is expeoted soon on this projeot and the
oompletion of this development should be aooomplished at the
earliest possible date in order to provide benefits for the lands
intended to be served by the Valleoito reservoir.

5. The Paonia projeot. This project is located on the
North Fork of the Gunnison River and proposes the storage of water
for supplemental irrigation of lands near Paonia. Colorado. This
project was authorizsd on March 18, 1939. An appropriation of
$300,000 for the project was made in 1940 and an additional appro-
priation of $600,000 was made in 1942. No oonstruotion has taken
place but further investigations and reports have been made. A
final report is ready for submission to the State for its prelimi-
nary oomments.

6. The Silt projeot. This project is looated near Rifle.
Colorado, fer the furnishing of supplemental water supplies for
presently irrigated lands. The final report is expeoted soon. It
was originally proposed to set up this projeot under the Wheeler-
Case law.

7. The CMl'ry Creek Flood Centrol projeot. This projeot
has been authorized for several years fer oonstruotion by the Corps
of Army Engineers. It provides fleed oontrol on Ch.rr~ Creek te
prevent fleed damages in the City of Denver and areas adjaoent
thereto. It is understood that the Corps of ~,y Engineers-pre-
poses to request a supplemental budget estimate to initiate oon-
struotion of this project during the present fisoal year.

8. The Colorado Springs Flood Control and IJnprovenent
project. This project, under the Corps of Army Engineers, haj been
authorized and provides flood proteotion primarily for the City of
, Colorado Springs.
