Debler. <br /> <br />The motion was unanimously oarried and deolared <br />wassed. <br /> <br />Mr. Patterson reported On the investigations now being made by the Army <br />Engineers of the Huerfano River in Colorado. He stated that the report of <br />the Army Engineers was adverse. He also reported with respeot to the investi- <br />gations of the Corps of Army Engineers on the Purgatoire River. He said that <br />the Distriot Engineer, in making his investigations, was oooperating with the <br />Bureau of Reolamation. He advised that the Army Engineers, aooording to <br />information furnished to him, were planning to prepare another report whioh <br />would give three alternatives for the so-oalled Trinidad area. One is <br />ohannelization through the City of Trinidad, the seoond is a reservoir above <br />Trinidad for flood oontrol purposes only, and the third is a reservoir above <br />Trinidad for a oombination of flood oontrol and irrigation. <br /> <br />Thereupon the Board further oonsidered the immediate postwar program of <br />water developnent for the State of Colarado and Mr. Dutoher offered and moved <br />the passage of the following resolutionl <br /> <br />WHEREAS projeots for the utilization and oontrol of water <br />in the seventeen Western arid and semi-arid state. will oonstitute <br />a part of the major publio works program for the immediate postwar <br />period; and that efforts are being made to expedite projeot investi- <br />gations ~or water development improvements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS it seems advisable for the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board to formulate a definite water development program for the State <br />of Colorado to be followed in the immediate postwar period in order <br />that the efforts of the State may have definite objeotives; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS suoh an immediate program is understood to mean the <br />inolusion of such activities ,and proposed development as may <br />reasonably be expeoted in the near future and does not exolude the <br />broader and more extensive program whioh will prooeed as fast as <br />projeot investigations may be completed and projeots made ready <br />for authorization in the future; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Con- <br />servation Board that, wi thin such understanding of "immediate post- <br />_r period," the following projeots and aotivities oonsti tute the <br />immediate postwar water development program for the State of Colorado, <br />namely I <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />1. The Colorado-Big Thompson projeot.
