Project Type: Diversion Structure <br /> <br />This project is the rehabilitation ofthe Riverside Reservoir and Land Company's <br />diversion structure on the South Platte River. The existing structure suffered severe damage in <br />1998 and again in 1999, when the river cut around the south abutment, nearly establishing a new <br />river channel that bypasses the existing diversion structure entirely. This condition created an <br />emergency $60,000 repair to construct a new diversion dike to redirect the river back towards the <br />existing diversion structure headgate. The Irrigation Company has retained the services of Jack <br />Odor, P.E., to prepare the final design plans and specifications to construct a new concrete <br />diversion structure, utilizing Obermeyer pneumatic gates and a radial flush gate. Construction is <br />tentatively scheduled to commence in NovemberlDecember of2000. <br /> <br />Owl Creek Supply and Ditch Companv - Hvdraulic Structure Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: HB 00-1419 County: Weld - N. of Greeley <br />Water Source: Cache La Poudre Project Yield: 30,000 acre feet <br />Terms of Loan: $450,000 @ 4.00% for 30-years Project Type: Structure Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Owl Creek Supply and Irrigation Company operates and maintains 12 miles of the <br />Owl Creek Ditch. The existing hydraulic structures along the 12 miles of ditch, such as; check <br />structures, drop structures, measuring weirs, flumes, gates, etc., have severely deteriorated over <br />the years and are in the need of replacement. The proposed project involves the replacement of <br />14 major structures, 55 flumes, 10 meter gates, and 30 headgates, to be designed by Smith <br />Geotechnical, Ft. Collins, Colorado. Construction is tentatively schedule to commence in <br />October of2000. <br /> <br />Weld Countv Tri-Area Santitation District - Reeional Detention Pond <br />Authorization: HB 00-1419 County: Weld - S. of Frederick <br />Water Source: n/a Project Yield: n/a <br />Terms of Loan: $1,500,000 @ 5.00% for 30-years Project Type: Regional Detention Pond <br /> <br />The communities ofDacono, Frederick, Evanston, and Firestone have consistently <br />experienced flooding problems due to storm runoff from irrigated framlands and adjacent <br />developments. These communities have suffered many recorded flooding events, dating back to <br />1957, which caused in excess of $300,000 in flood related damages. With significant population <br />growth occuring within the District, the District cooperated in the development of the 1-25 <br />Corridor Master Drainage Plan.
