Blue Mesa Reservoir will reach a maximum
surface elevation of 7504 feet with a con-
tent of 800,000 acre-feet by the end of
August and Morrow Point is about 135 feet
deep at the dam and it should rise to the
elevation of 7,000 by late July.

I

As a matter of interest, We have been
working actively on the water service con-
tracts out of Storage Project reservoirs at
Navajo and Lake Powell in particular. We
have negotiated five contracts for water
service out of Navajo Reservoir. The con-
sumption would amount to a little over
90,000 acre-feet of the 100,000 that is
available. Three of these contracts have
gone forward and have received the con-
gressional approval that they require.

We have had discussions with prospective
users of water out of Lake Powell from both
Arizona and utah; utah being Resources In-
corporated, the power works development, and
for Arizona with the Salt River Project
representing the group of utility interests
that are exploring the possibilities of a
second major power development in that
region.

The marketing of power from the Storage
Project is proceeding on a satisfactory
schedule. During 1967 we added four new cus-
tomers which brings the total to 81 customers
with whom We have firm power contracts. Two
of these new contracts, incidentally, are with
the cities of Oak Creek and Delta in Colorado,
and the transmission lines of Colorado-Ute
and its member cooperatives would be utilized
in supplying power to these two cities.

I

Our total contracts now call for delivery
of more than 700,000 kilowatts this coming
summer and 450,000 kilowatts next winter. By
1971 nearly one million kilowatts of firm
power will be delivered to customers through-
out our 7-state marketing area.
