Bill 67 is the bill that <br /> <br />3 would authorize the 14 projects which the Board recommended <br /> <br />4 for consideration at its December meeting. <br /> <br />5 It's straightforward in routine with one exception, <br /> <br />6 and the exception is as follows: Subsequent to the Board's <br /> <br />7 meeting in December, a situation was brought to the staff's <br /> <br />8 attention with respect to Terrace Reservoir, which is in the <br /> <br />9 San Luis Valley. It has been found to be deficient in certain <br /> <br />10 regards and was, in the estimate of the staff upon review of <br /> <br />11 the situation, in need of emergency assistance. We really <br /> <br />12 don't have a procedure in our statutes for permitting such, <br /> <br />so the staff went ahead in the last two weeks in conjunction <br /> <br />with the State Engineer's office, the local sponsors, entities <br /> <br />and the consulting engineering firm which it has retained, to <br /> <br />assist Representative Lillpop in an amendment to Senate Bill <br /> <br />67. <br /> <br />I was operating on the assumption that the senate <br /> <br />committee would not consider Senate Bill 67 until this Board <br /> <br />had a chance to meet, and we could bring the project for your <br /> <br />consideration. However, the senate committee has already met, <br /> <br />and the bill has been amended and passed out of committee to <br /> <br />add a fifteenth priority--you may want to note this on page <br /> <br />two--a fifteenth priority for the Terrace Reservoir project <br /> <br />in the amount of $620,000, increasing the total--if I do my <br />
