Now this is a brief description. We can
go on into depth. We can file a biological
and chemical analysis of the water. The oxygen
dissolved in Grand Lake alone is very, very
poor. Eutrophorism, again the word. Can the
question of how far you want to go - it isn't
a question of how far you want to go, you ~
to go. Either that or condemn all lakes for
swimming, boating and the like.

Mr. Chairman and members of the Board, my
name is Fletcher Thomas, a resident of Denver
but a part-time summer resident of Grand Lake.
I am a member of this Grand Lake Anti-Pollution
Committee.

You have heard from Mr. MacCornack who
has done a lot of work on this problem. There
are several other members of this committee
here. We are all property owners up there.
We represent quite a few private individuals
who also have property there who are vitally
interested in this problem. Mr. MacCornack
statEd we do speak on behalf of the county
commissioners of Grand County who are also
greatly concerned about this problem.

It is certainly too detailed a matter to
go into at this time, but there are a couple I
of points I'd like to emphasize. The first
being that the primary party responsible for
the pollution problems that have occurred in
the tri-Iake area lies quite squarely on the
federal government. There are two reasons
