MR. STAPLETON:

MR. OGILVIE:

MR. STAPLP:TON:

MR. BERTHELSON:

Our policy, I think, is to, on this basis,
deliver water to meet requirements in the
community. "

"Well, this may be a loaded question but
I'll ask it anyway. I really should ask you
this privately but I have started so I'll go I
on. Is there any policy of the city government
which appoints the Board of Water Commissioners
to exert pressure on annexation and other things
as compared with the judgment of the Board _ :
of Water Commissioners as to what would be the
best way to develop the water for the total
Denver metropolitan area?"

"There is a degree of load in that!

I would say that we have had mostly
cooperation from the City Council and the city
Planning Board in this respect. I would say
that there have been occasions when there have
been recommendations based on prior actions
that have not been entirely honored by the
Board of Water Commissioners in allocating
water to surrounding communities, but for the
most part this has been a cooperative basis and
has worked out very satisfactorily."

"I think that should be the goal of the
Water Board. I try to think in terms of the
metropolitan community. The blue line is
thrown up to me more often than any policy as
an arbitrary act that has made the metropolitan
cooperation more difficult than it normally
would be.

I should point out that I represent on
this Board the city and County of Denver. I
am really asking these questions for my edifi-
cation and for the good of the metropolitan
community.

I

All right, Si, do you have a question?"

"I'd like to ask a couple of questions.
