V--'--'''>

have is the Eagle-Piney system which involves
diversion of water from tributaries of the
Eagle and the Gore Range area and Piney River
area through again a system of diversions,
tunnels, reservoirs and canals through the
Vail Pass Tunnel, about eight miles long,
dumping water into Dillon Reservoir where it
then enters our system and can be transported
through the Roberts Tunnel to the east slope
and into our treatment and distribution system.
We anticipate that there are about forty miles
of tunneling and conduit involved in this sys-
tem and that it will provide about 100,000
acre-feet of water. The chart shows in red
the collection area for the Eagle-Piney System.

I

The East Gore Canal, also dumping water
into Dillon Reservoir extends in a northernly
direction from Dillon towards Green Mountain
Reservoir and will tap tributaries flowing
into the Blue River conveying by gravity again
an estimated 70,000 acre-feet of water into
Dillon Reservoir. The development of this
particular system is not without a number of
problems the principal of which is replacement
requirement downstream and at Green Mountain
Reservoir and also consideration of power
interference at Green Mountain Reservoir.

The expansion of some additional facili-
ties in the Williams Fork system, and this
work is now under way, will increase 'collec-
tions from that area by about 30,000 acre-feet.
In addition to this we have other areas, both
on the east slope and on the west slope, where
through purchase of senior rights where we
now have to bypass water or forego diversions
because of water rights, we can purchase some
rights and increase our water supply and we I
anticipate we may get as much as 30,000 acre-
feet from this source. I'm sorry, 60,000
acre-feet from this source.

An additional important aspect of future
development is the Two Forks Reservoir being
