"Mr. Haskell, the president of the newly
organized Basalt Water Conservancy District,
contacted me regarding appearing before the
Board today. I misguessed on when you would
t~{e this item up. I told him we would
probably take it up after noon. I don't be-
lieve he has arrived so I will merely state
that the District is very much organized and
very much interested in pushing the Basalt as
rapidly as possible. I just wanted the Board
to know that they are definitely interested
in the project."

"Mr. McCandless, I skipped over a little
and we would like to hear from Mr. Sherman
now if he would care to add anything to the
action that has been taken."

"Mr. Chairman, since you have already
passed a motion, my argument here is meaning-
less because I was sent down here by the city
of Craig and the County of Moffat and as
President of the Great Northern District, to
make some remarks concerning the priorities.
Since the motion was passed I'll just pass on
my statement."

"I take it that the second priority for
the Juniper-Great Northern Project as such is
satisfactory to you."

"No, no it is not. We wanted it in 'the
iil spot. ~'le think it is more ~mportant be-
cause we need water for the City of Craig.
We have engineers over there now trying to
find water and, of course, this project, the
Great Northern project will eliminate that
trouble and make Fortification flow the year
round. We have flood control conditions there
