.

e

report recommends a daily peak flow in excess of 23,500 cfs in at least lout
of every 4 years. Flows in moderately wet years are recommended to be in the
range of 20,500 to 23,500 cfs and averaging 22,000 cfs in at least lout of
4 years. Flows in average years should range between 14,800 to 20,500 cfs,
averaging 17,650 cfs, in no more than 2 of each 4 years. Peak daily flows
should never be lower than 14,800 cfs.

Mean monthly flow recommendations for the spring period are displayed below in
Table 1. Where a range is shown, the goal is to provide a variety of flows
within that range such that the long-term average of the mean monthly flow is
the mid point of the range. For instance, for a mean monthly flow
recommendation of between 12,800 and 16,200 cfs in June, the ideal long-term
average would be 14,500 cfs.

TABLE I
MEAN MONTHLY SPRING FLOW RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE IS-MILE REACH
Units=CFS

Frequency

April

May

June

=============================================================================

Wet year
At least lout of 4 years >3,900 >12,900 >16,200
Moderately wet year
At least lout of 4 years 3,200-3,900 10,800-12,900 12,800-16,200
e Average 3;500 11,500 14,500
Average year
At least 2 out of 4 years 2,400-3,200 8,300-10,800 10,000-12,800
Average 2,800 9,500 11,400
Low years
Never below 2,400 8,300 10,000.

.

e

.
