Jencsok <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />September 12, 1991 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Added Agenda Item 12d (3), September 19-20, 1991, Board Meeting-- <br />Endangered Fish Recovery Program . <br />Recommendations for Flows in the IS-Mile Reach During October- <br />June <br /> <br />e Introduction <br /> <br />The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) has recently completed a report <br />entitled "Recommendations for Flows in the IS-Mile Reach during October-June for <br />Maintenance and Enhancernent of Endangered Fish Populations in the Upper <br />Colorado River." The report describes studies conducted by the Service and <br />recommends flows for the IS-Mile Reach during the October-June period. The <br />studies were conducted as part of the Recovery Implernentation Program for <br />Endangered Fish Species in the Upper Colorado River Basin. <br /> <br />In its transmittal letter to the Board, the Recovery Implementation Committee <br />(RIC) requested that the Board review the report and use it in appropriating an <br />instream flow right in the IS-Mile Reach. The RlC also requested that the Board <br />proceed as expeditiously as possible and provide an anticipated schedule for <br />responding to its request and the preliminary identification of any major problems the <br />Board foresees in implementing the flow recommendations, and provide suggestions <br />on how the RIC could assist in resolving potential problems. A summary of the flow <br />recommendations is attached for your review. <br /> <br />e <br />
