1992 Annual Operating Plan

Introduction

On August 13, 1991, representatives of the seven Colorado River Basin States
and the Upper Colorado River Commission met with the Regional Directors of the
Bureau of Reclamation and others interested in Colorado River operations to discuss
the Annual Operating Plan for th~ Colorado River Reservoir System for water year
1992. An annual operating plan was agreed upon and will be submitted by the Bureau
to the Secretary of the Interior for his approval.

Annual Operating Plan - 1992

Requests for water in calendar year 1992 total 7,900,000 aJ. in the Lower
Division States. These requests are: Arizona 2,500,000 aJ.; California 5,200,000 aJ.;
Nevada 200,000 aJ.

Because reservoir contents for the mainstem reservoirs and hydrologic
projections have not improved over the 1991 water year, operations of the Colorado
. River Reservoir System in water year 1992 will be essentially the same as they were
for water year 1991

The key elernents of the 1992 Annual Operating Plan are:

Operations will be based on a "normal" determination by the Secretary
of the Interior.
