Jencsok <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />September 12, 1991 <br /> <br />SUBJECf: <br /> <br />Agenda Item 12a, Septernber 19-20, 1991, Board Meeting-- <br />Colorado River Matters <br />1992 Annual Operating Plan <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />On August 13, 1991, representatives of the seven Colorado River Basin States <br />and the Upper Colorado River Commission met with the Regional Directors of the <br />Bureau of Reclamation and others interested in Colorado River operations to discuss <br />the Annual Operating Plan for th~ Colorado River Reservoir System for water year <br />1992. An annual operating plan was agreed upon and will be submitted by the Bureau <br />to the Secretary of the Interior for his approval. <br /> <br />Annual Operating Plan - 1992 <br /> <br />Requests for water in calendar year 1992 total 7,900,000 aJ. in the Lower <br />Division States. These requests are: Arizona 2,500,000 aJ.; California 5,200,000 aJ.; <br />Nevada 200,000 aJ. <br /> <br />Because reservoir contents for the mainstem reservoirs and hydrologic <br />projections have not improved over the 1991 water year, operations of the Colorado <br />. River Reservoir System in water year 1992 will be essentially the same as they were <br />for water year 1991 <br /> <br />The key elernents of the 1992 Annual Operating Plan are: <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />. <br />Operations will be based on a "normal" determination by the Secretary <br />of the Interior. <br />
