Describe the existing social setting. <br /> <br />Task 7 - Basin Descriptions <br /> <br />Describe the physical, institutional, social, demographic and economic setting as well as the extent <br />of water supply development in each of Colorado's major river basins. Linkages between basins, <br />such as trans-basin diversions, will be included. <br /> <br />The information developed here will be similar to the work done in Tasks 4, 5 and 6 but will focus <br />on the characteristics of each individual basin and will be prepared iIi such a way as to be easily <br />utilized in the formulation and evaluation of water supply alternatives and strategies in Tasks 10, 11 <br />and 12. The task will include a discussion of issues, concerns, problems and opportunities in each <br />basin. <br /> <br />Summaries of CWCB basin meetings and Basin Fact Sheets recently developed for the CWCB will <br />be incorporated in this task as well as information which may be available from the Colorado <br />. Drought and Water Supply Assessment which is expected to be completed in 2003. <br /> <br />7a. Prepare basin descriptions for the: <br /> <br />Arkansas River Basin <br /> <br />Colorado River Basin <br /> <br />Dolores/San Juan River Basins" <br /> <br />Gunnison River Basin <br /> <br />North Platte River Basin <br /> <br />Rio Grande Basin <br /> <br />South Platte River Basin <br /> <br />Yampa/White River Basins <br /> <br />Task 8 - Water Supplies Available for Development in Each Basin <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Utilizing information developed in Tasks 4 and 7 augmented by additional analyses in this task, <br />estimate the amounts of water that may be physically and legally available for development in each <br />basin. Special consideration will be given to any waters that remain undeveloped under interstate <br />Flood Protection. Water Project Planning and Financing.
