<br />2. <br /> <br />Groundwater Atlas <br />Authorization: Long bill <br /> <br />Grant Amount: $120,000 <br />Project Manager: Dan McAuliffe <br /> <br /> <br />among staff, drafted a new Strategic Plan, Objectives and Work-plans for the Board and its programmatic <br />sections. . <br /> <br />The Board adopted a new Strategic Plan in March 2002. The plan is available for review at <br />www.cwcb.state.co.us. <br /> <br />The Colorado Geological Survey has nearly completed the production of a statewide groundwater <br />atlas. The atlas will begin as a non-technical soft cover b.ook and evolve into an Internet based atlas <br />covering the entire state. This will complement existing and developing Decision Support System tools. <br /> <br />The soft-cover atlas is expected to be completed in October 2003. The draft is being peer- <br />reviewed at this time. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Flood Task Force - Flood and Weather Forecasting <br />Authorization: FY 2001 <br />Water Source: N/A <br /> <br />Grant Amount: $6,000 <br />Type: Flood Outlooks and Weather <br />Forecasting <br />Project Manager: Larry Lang <br /> <br />Location: Statewide <br /> <br />\ <br />The CWCB Chairs the Colorado Flood Task Force that is comprised of federal, state, local and <br />private sector weather forecasting and flood program agencies. The Flood Task Force meets during <br />prime flood and drought season (April through September) to coordinate activities, monitor extreme . <br />weather conditions and share program information and assistance opportunities. CWCB contracts with <br />John Henz of HDR Engineering (Hydrology - Meteorology) for flood and weather outlooks. During the <br />2002 season Henz made a spring presentation and the Parker Board meeting and attended three Task <br />Force meetings and made presentations. Henz's PowerPoint presentations are posted on the CWCB <br />website and include precipitation, long and short range weather forecasts and severe weather outlooks <br />for the state. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />USACE Liaison Support <br />Authorization: Long Bill <br /> <br />Grant Amount: $4,000 <br />Project Manager: Dan McAuliffe <br /> <br />In FY 01-02 the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers lUred a liaison to facilitate cooperation between <br />state and local entities regarding flood control projects ;and various federal permitting activities. The <br />Board assumed responsibility for locating and paying for office space for the liaison near its office in the <br />Centennial Building. <br /> <br />The liaison has been relocated to the Federal Center and no further financial obligation is <br />expected. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Town of Otis - Floodplain Mapping <br />Authorization: Long Bill <br />Water Source: N/A <br />Location: South side of Otis <br /> <br />Grant Amount: $8,500 <br />Type: Floodplain delineation & recon. <br />Project Manager: Brian Hyde <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Page 26 of,31 <br />
