Work is expected to continue into the summer of 2003.
3) Gunnison County has begun topographic mapping of streams in the Marble area and in the
Gunnison/Crested Butte area. Tn addition, the Corps of Engineers has begun hydrologic analyses
for these stream reaches. Completion of the topographic mapping is expected in the late fall of
2002. The Corps ofEugineers is expected to begin some of the hydraulic analyses at that time.

Two other communities have beeu identified for the remaining floodplain mapping, but work has not
begun there yet. Those two communities are Delta County and Weld County. Meetings will be scheduled
during the summer of 2002 to begin th.e mapping studies in those counties.

These floodplain mapping dollars are matched by local government resources and federal agency
program funds.

5.

CWCB - CherrY Creek Flood Safety Tnvestigation
Authorization: SB 99-173
Water Source: Cherry Creek
Location: Southeast Denver Metro

Grant Amount: $150,000
Project Type: Flood Control
Project Manager: Larry Lang

This project is a technical review of the Corps ofEugineers and National Weather Service July 13
1995 Probable Maximum Precipitation (PMP) Study f6r the Corps Dam Safety Tnvestigation of the
Cherry Creek Dam and Reservoir.
