<br />I <br /> <br />Crawford Dam, the principal feature of the <br />SMITH FORK PROJECT, is now about 60 percent <br />completed, and work is in the early stages on the <br />Aspen Canal and the Smith Fork Diversion Dam and <br />Feeder Canal. <br /> <br />Advance Planninq <br /> <br />Completion of the Curecanti Unit supple- <br />mental report on economic justification of the <br />Crystal Dam has been delayed until February 1962. <br />The report is being delayed to include consider- <br />ation of an underground powerplant at the Crystal <br />damsite. Feasibility designs and estimates for <br />the underground plant are in progress, and the <br />results of the studies will be included in the <br />report. <br /> <br />The Silt project definite plan report will <br />be completed early in December, or possibly late <br />this month. <br /> <br />Feasibility Investiqations <br /> <br />During September 1961 the proposed report <br />of the Department of the Interior on the Bost- <br />wick Park Project was submitted for review under <br />the provisions of the Flood Control Act of 1944, <br />and also to the Bureau of the Budget. <br /> <br />The feasibility report for the Fruitland <br />Mesa Project is under review in the Commission- <br />er's office. The Chief, Project Development <br />Division, Washington, D. C., made a field inspec- <br />tion of the project in October. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Revisions in the Animas-La Plata proposed <br />feasibility report are being made following <br />informal review by Federal and State agencies. <br />We anticipate the report will be completed by <br />January 1962. <br /> <br />Feasibility designs and estimates for <br />features of the Dolores Project have been com- <br />pleted. Writing of the proposed feasibility <br />report and appendices is well advanced with <br />completion scheduled for December 1961. <br />
