I

I

MR. R.B. WILLIAMS:

MR. CORNELIUS:

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. TEN EYCK:

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. SPARKS t

broader representation from throughout the state.
si Berthelson has, not reluctantly, I wouldn't
say that, but is willing to assume a pretty im-
portant and burdensome responsibility on that
commission. If I am expressing what we talked
about correctly, I would like to now entertain
a motion that Mr. Vandemoer's resignation on
the Water Pollution Control Commission as a
member designated by this Board be accepted
with regret and in his place Mr. Si Berthelson
be appointed."

"I would so move."

"I second."

"Is there any discussion? Did you have a
comment, Tom?"

"I was simply going to say it will be an
interesting new exercise for si and for those
of us on the commission to work with Si. He is going to be a real loss to the
commission and we will miss him. I must express
how much the commission has appreciated his
willingness to undertake this personal sacrifice
to him, he doesn't have to come to these meetings
any more. It is a matter of great pride to me
that the Water Conservation Board has been able
to furnish such a contributing member in the
past and I know that Si will carryon in this
tradition.

Thanks to you both."

"All in favor of the motion will signify by
saying 'aye'; opposed - so ordered."

"I might add, Si, that one of our staff
