On the Yellow Jacket (this is not a Yellow
Jacket picture) this is still being considered
by interests in the state with respect to some
big game mitigation problems but there is a
tentative report out to guide this considera-
tion.

This is the Upper Gunnison, the area you
just saw. We have a report due there in '71.

I

This photograph here is illustrative of a
very special study that we are conducting with
the Water Pollution Control Administration in
the Vernal a~ea to determine what happens as
the result of irrigation to water quality by
movement of water through soil profile, just
what happens. how does the salt get picked up
and what can be done to minimize it. That is
a very important, a very significant effort as
we look at our water quality problems of the
future in the Colorado Basin.

On the next page is advance planning.
This is a picture of Soap Park Dam on the
Fruitland Mesa Project. Our preparatory activi-
ties are about finished on Fruitland Mesa and
as soon as funding is available we can proceed
with construction. A contract has been signed
with the conservancy district so we are poised
to begin the actual conversion of the plans
into reality.

On the Sa.ery-pot Hook Project, this is
the construction of the Pot Hook damsite, the
dam and reservoir. We have found the need to
do a little additional drilling at one of the
sites but this will not postpone the completion
of the definite plan report into another fiscal I~'
year. As far as the time of starting the actual
project itself there will be no delay but there
will be a delay of perhaps three or more months
to complete the definite plan report.

This is a photograph of the Animas River
to sort of set the theme for the five Colorado
