.

. After approval of the hydrology report and preparation of a scope of work/contract for
the preliminary design, preliminary design commenced in late July.
. Preliminary design continues underway with an expected completion date around the
end of the year.

e

We will keep you informed, as we have over the last year, as progress continues into the
year 2000. Please let us know if there are any documents which I have made reference
to that you do not have (including the September 1998 "Elkhead Dam/Reservoir Projects
Updating" report), and we will be happy to provide additional copies.

We respectfully request that you keep our financing request active and do not
de-authorize the subject loan. We fully expect to definitively address the need for the
loan during the next year.

We trust that this provides the information you need at this time. Please call either me or
Doug Laiho at Ayres Associates for any clarification or more details of the information
provided in this letter.

Sincerely,

I~'~

Jim Ferree
Manager, City of Craig

cc: Doug Laiho, Ayres Associates

e

.
