<br />17. Town of Frederick Milavec Dam Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: Construction Fund County: Weld - Near Frederick <br />Water Source: South Platte River Project Yield: 300 acre-feet <br />. Terms of Loan: $1,000,000 @4.5% for 20 yrs. Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This $1,335,000 project involves addressing seepage losses and increase capacity of the reservoir in order to <br />provide non-treated irrigation water to 100 acres of parks, open space, and recreation areas. The design includes a <br />low permeability compacted slope clay liner extending from the existing upstream clay liner down to the underling <br />natural clay. The reservoir capacity will be increased from 775 acre-feet to 1,050 acre-feet. The Town of <br />Frederick has obtained alternative financing and has requested that their loan funds be de-authorized. <br /> <br />18. Greelev and Loveland hri!!ation Comoanv <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: South Platte River <br />Terms of Loan: $I,OOO,OOO@ 3.25% for 30 yrs. <br /> <br />Bovd Lake Lower Level Outlet Rehab. <br />County: Larimer - Loveland <br />Project Yield: 37,812 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Greeley and Loveland hrigation Company and its sister company the Seven Lakes Irrigation Company, own and <br />operate an extensive system of reservoir and canals in Loveland and the Greeley area. The Greeley and Loveland <br />hrigation Company owns Boyd Lake, the largest reservoir in their system with a surface area of 1,750 acres and a <br />capacity of 48,875 acre-feet. The $1,000,000 project loan is to replace the existing low-level outlet works at the dam. <br />The proposed low level outlet works will consist of 300-feet of 48" diameter concrete mortar-lined steel through the <br />dam emban1anent and will be controlled by a 48" sluice gate. Downstream ofthe embankment the steel pipe would <br />transition into 1,600 J.f. of 48-inch concrete pipe discharging into a stilling basin 200-feet upstream. This project is <br />currently on-hold and pending de-authorization. <br /> <br />19. South Side hri!!ation Comoanv Ditch Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: Construction Fund County: Larimer - Near - Loveland <br />&!later Source: South Platte River Project Yield: 1,587 acre-feet <br />.1'erms of Loan: $72,000 @ 3.10% for 30 yrs. Project Type: Ditch Rehabilitation <br />This $80,000 project involves the rehabilitation of a number of hydraulic structures and various concrete lining <br />along the South Side Ditch. The overall ditch is approximately II miles long and its headgate is located on the <br />South Platte River. The project is under design and is anticipated to be constructed in the fall of2003. <br /> <br />20. Town ofPaonia - Water Ri!!hts <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: Gunnison Drainage Basin <br />Terms of Loan: $1,000,000 @ 3.75% for 30 yrs. <br /> <br />County: Delta <br />Project Yield: 129 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Water Rights <br /> <br />This $1,900,000 project involves the buyback and retirement of 317 unused out-of-town water taps. The effect of <br />this water tap buyback is equivalent to acquisition of water rights, because it relives an existing water supply <br />shortage. In addition, the Town originally issued the taps to exchange for water rights on German Creek, and the <br />buyback of the taps for cash provides the seller with acceptable substituted consideration. The Town ofPaonia has <br />elected to not utilize their loan funds for this project and funds are in the process of being de-authorized. <br /> <br />21. South Side hri!!ation Comoanv - South Side Reservoir Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: Construction Fund County: Larimer - Near Loveland <br />Water Source: South Platte River Project Yield: 1,241 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $360,000 @3.10% for 30 yrs. Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The South Side Reservoir Company operates the South Side Reservoir that provides irrigation water within a 1,590 <br />acre service area. The South Side Reservoir is located approximately I mile southwest of the City of Loveland. <br />.ThiS $400,000 project involves rehabilitation of the outlet structure and spillway. These improvements will <br />liminate the current storage restrictions imposed by the State Engineers Office. The project is currently under <br />design and is scheduled for construction in the fall of 2003. <br />
