Terms of Loan: $490,000 @ 4.25% for 30-yearsProject Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation

Lake Henry Reservoir is located approximately 5 miles northea~t of Ordway and is filled by the Colorado Canal,
which diverts water from the Arkansas River. The existing dan\. was constructed in the early 1900's and was .
enlarged in 1951. The existing reservoir is a Class 2 structure, 18-ft high, impounding approximately 9,500 acre-
feet of water. Annual maintenance and repair have been neede4 to keep the dam in operation and in compliance
with the State Engineer's Office. The reservoir has seepage prQblems and has no emergency spillway. The
proposed improvements to the reservoir are the construction of Ii toe drain system and the construction of a new
400-ft. wide spillway to accommodate 50% of the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF). The project is currently
under construction should be completed by October of 2003.

8. These 12 wells are currently augmented under the Groundwater
Appropriators of the South Platte (G.A.S.P.) The Stieb Brothersihave been using GASP to replace depletions from
their well pumping when there is a senior water right call on the:river. In order to keep their sprinklers runoing in
the summer months the Stieb Brothers plan to construct 2 wells to pump water to a recharge pond in the winter
months when there is no call on the river .
