<br />Director's Report Attachment - September 22-23 Board Meeting <br />Water Snpply Planning and.Pinance Section <br />Design and Construction Status Report <br /> <br />The CWCB Water Supply Planning and Finance Section completed 6 projects in FY 03-04. Currently for FY 03-04 we <br />have 26 projects under construction and 26 projects in the design phase. <br /> <br />The attached spreadsheet summarizes project status including budget, construction schedule, and progress to date. <br />During this current reporting period 6 projects were completed. <br /> <br />The attached progress report briefly outlines all active project design and construction information and progress to date. <br /> <br />Projects Under Construction <br /> <br />1. Windsor Reservoir and Canal Companv - Various Canal and Reservoir Rehabilitations <br />Authorization: SB 96-153 County: Larimer- N. of Ft. Collins <br />Water Source: Cache La Poudre Project Yield: 30,000 ac. ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $2,658,500 @4.J5% for 30 years Project Type: CanallRes. Rehabilitation <br /> <br />m 1995 the Windsor Reservoir and Canal Company retained the services of Smith Geotechnical to evaluate the <br />current condition of their 25 miles of canal and 6 reservoirs. SIhith Geotechnical identified approximately <br />$3,400,000 in recommended improvements, with a proposed design and construction time frame of IS-years. The <br />projects identified consisted of the Poudre Valley Canal, Cobb Lake Pipeline and Outlet/fulet Structures, Windsor <br />Reservoir No.8, Annex No.8 and Elder Reservoir Outlet Structure. The Poudre Valley Canal and the Cobb Lake <br />improvements have been designed and constructed. The construction of Elder Reservoir was completed October of <br />200 I, constructed by Zak Dirt, from Longmont, CO. Barker Construction commenced construction of Annex No.8 <br />and Windsor No.8 in fall of2002 and completed the work in May of2003. Project substantial completion is <br />scheduled for October of2003. <br /> <br />2. Windsor Reservoir and Canal Company Annex No.8 and Windsor No.8 Dredging <br />Authorization: SB 96-153 County: Larimer- N. ofFt. Collins <br />Water Source: Cache La Poudre Project Yield: 620 ac. ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $681,750 @4.J5% for 30 years Project Type: CanallRes. Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Windsor Reservoir & Canal Company (WRCC) is in the process of recovering 620 acre-feet of storage in their <br />Windsor Reservoir No.8 and No.8 Annex, by excavating and removing up to 1,000,000 cubic yards of sediment. <br />The WRCC service area extends from their Cache la Poudre di~ersion north of Fort Collins east to near the town of <br />Galeton northeast of Greeley, generally bounded by the Eaton Ditch and the Greeley Ditch No.2 Ditch. The total <br />area encompassed is about 86,000 acres, providing water for irrigation for about 55,000 acres. Project <br />construction commenced in April of 2003 and has been shutdown for summer irrigation. The project will resume in <br />OctoberlNovember of 2003 and is anticipated to be completed by April of2004. <br /> <br />3. Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Companv - System Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: SB-97-008 County: Montezuma - NE of Cortez <br />Water Source: Lost Canyon Creek Project Yield: 4,287 ac. ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $300,000@3.75% for 30-years Project Type: Reservoir and Ditch Rehab. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />This $270,000 project is the rehabilitation of the Summit Reservoir Dam outlet works and the repair and <br />improvements to the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company's water collection and distribution facilities. The <br />Cortez office of Natural Resource Conservation Service prepared the construction plans and specifications. <br />Construction for the Walker Drops improvements commenced in March of 1999, by Noland, mc., of Mancos, CO., <br />and was completed in July of 1999. The second to last phase of the project was completed in October of 2001. . <br />That fmal remaining phase of the project is anticipated to be coinplete by the winter of 2004. <br />
