DeBeque

I

"There are one' or two'matters which are
not on the agenda. _One concerns DeBeque."

"About six weeks ago I wrote a letter to
the Secretary of the Colorado River Water
Conservation District; with a copy to the
Secretary of the Grand Junction Chamber
of Commerce asking if they had any informa-
tion with regard to local feeling on
DeBeque Project. To date I have received
no answer, I think it would be valuable
if we could be informed about the local
feeling so as to guide us in our work with
the Bureau of Reclamation."

"I think they, the local people, would
like to have the report on the project and
thus learn what the status is."

"That report is due in Januar~."

"I will be very anxious to see it."

"I would suggest that when that report ~s
out that it be made available to the
Colorado River Water Conservation District."

8. There is, as you
all know, a Congressional meeting in Denver
today receiving statements in connection
with the Hoover Report."

I

Mr. Crawford explained that he had been asked to make
a statement before that committee concerning the Hoo;ve'r
Report and in preparation for that, had written a, statement.
Mr, Crawford read his statement to the Board.
