<br />564 <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser- <br />vation Board that in the death of John Wesley Beaty, this Board <br />has lost a highly respected co-worker and the State of Colorado, <br />a devoted public servant; <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be <br />transmitted to the members of his family and with it our <br />sympathy in this bereavement. <br /> <br />MR. DILLE: <br /> <br />"I suppose most of you heard John Page passed away <br />recently. The Committee should also draft a reso- <br />lution recognizing his services to the Board." <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The resolution follows: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, John C,. Page, Former Commissioner of Reclamation in <br />the United States, died on March 23, 1955, after spending a life <br />devoted to the development of reclamation in the West; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, he gave freely advice to the Colorado Water Con- <br />servation Board on engineering and economic questions on which <br />he had a lifetime of experience and on which he was an acknowledged <br />authority; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, even in his years of illness, his great loyalty' to <br />Colorado compelled him to attend our meetings and assist in <br />deciding important questions or real moment to the State of <br />Colorado and the Federal Government; <br /> <br />BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board that in the death of John C. Page, the State of Colorado <br />and the Nation have lost a public servant who had contributed <br />greatly to the development of the West; - <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be <br />transmitted to the family of John C. Page and with it our sympathy <br />in their bereavement. <br /> <br />~ Director's Report <br /> <br />Mr. Crawford reported on the activities of the office of the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board for the last two or three months. <br /> <br />Considerable discussion concerning the need for, and the <br />possibility of, obtaining funds for additional legal services <br />followed. <br /> <br />MR. CRAWFORD: <br /> <br />"The probabilities are that we should have a <br />committee of the Board to study this matter." <br /> <br />I <br />
