Also, a new gaging station is
needed on the San'Miguel River near
Telluride to obtain stream flow data
for use in the investigation of
potential hydroelectric power develop-
ment in connection with the San Miguel
project.

I

In my October 29, 1954, letter I
advised that unless additional funds are
made available by Colorado it does not
appear that any new stations can be
included in the 1955 program. We there-
fore suggest that if it is the desire of
the board to have the bureau proceed with
the investigation of the above projects
that its representative attending the
stream gaging meeting, May 16, be authorized
to indicate the number of the above stations
the board will finance, including construction
,and operation, for inclusion in the 1956
program.

We would appreciate hearing from. you on
this matter prior to the May 16 meeting.

Very truly yours,
/s/ E.
