Burress, Durango C. of C. <br />Water Committee, Durango; E. Beasley, Southwestern Water <br />Conservation District Director, Bayfield; F. V. Kroeger, <br />Durango C. of C. Water Committee, Durango; Ed Kennedy, <br />LaPlata Water Cons. District, Hesperus; Bob Taylor, LaPlata <br />Water Cons. Dist. and County Commissioner, LaPlata County; <br />and Pat Thomas, Durango C. of C. Water Committee, Durango. <br /> <br />Mr. McDaniel spoke briefly to the Board in support of <br />the Animas-LaPlata Project. Kroeger <br />Argonaut Hotel <br />Denver, Colorado <br /> <br />Resolution No. 702. <br /> <br />Resolution of the Council of Southern Utes, <br />Consolidated Ute Agency, Ignacio, Colorado. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, authority is vested in the trial <br />council by its constitution and by-laws, adopted <br />by the Southern Ute Tribe, and approved November 4, <br />1936 to act for the Southern Ute Tribe and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the Southern Utes <br />claims a prior right for the Southern Ute Tribe <br />to certain waters in southwestern Colorado and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council of Southern Utes desires <br />to put water to beneficial use on tribal lands and <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, failure to put the waters of south- <br />western Colorado to beneficial use might result in <br />the loss of Colorado water to other states and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Animas-LaPlata.Water Diversion <br />Project will furnish water to approximately 5400 <br />acres of irrigable lands belonging to the Southern <br />Ute Tribe and <br />
