<br />.. <br />-2- ~ <br /> <br />Recommendations <br />The CWCB staff is requesting the Board to approve the following five contract provisions between the . <br />CWCB and Montezuma County as conditions of moving forward with this project. <br /> <br />(1) Future development in the Dolores River Valley near the floodplain will require a floodplain <br />review, follow the minimum NFIP standards, and will require the issuance of a floodplain <br />development permit. <br /> <br />(2) For the interim period, until the new floodplain study is prepared, Montezuma County will <br />use the existing Flood Insurance Study aIjd the USACE study for floodplain development, <br />floodplain review, and the issuance of floodplain development permits. <br /> <br />(3) Montezuma County will cost share in the floodplain mapping component of this study with <br />$20,000 in cash and in-kind services and the CWCB will commit $50,000 to this project. <br /> <br />(4) Montezuma County will meet the minimu\ll NFIP requirements and will maintain eligibility <br />in the NFIP. <br /> <br />(5) Montezuma County shall use mapping specifications for this project under guidance from <br />the CWCB, FEMA arid USACE. <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
