3S~

In other words, Mr; Roberts suggests that Paragraphs 7
and ~ of the Findings and Recommendations adopted ,by
the Board be substituted by Paragraphs 2 and 3 of the
mraft.

I

Mr. Roberts: "I know that the wording is alright. It
appears to wipe out the Curecanti. It is not mentioned
in the Bill, because in the Bill our request is general.
In this fashionwe will still have all the legitimate
control for a precise design that will be acceptable and
may press our ideas so as to get them in' the line.. It
seems to me that there is a small chance of getting .
Curecanti. We better get something for the State of
Colorado and in getting authorization for three million
acre-feet, that something has been handed out to us. I
am disappointed, but I think it is as far as we can get
the door open at this time. I think we should take it.
I think we should make a united front. Let us try. We
have here essentially a compromise where everYboay has
to swallow something that is a bitter dose, but I think
time is running out. That is what is offered and I
think we better take it. Otherwise let our resolution
stand as we adopted it. I wish we can unanimously adopt
the policy we have before us. That is the program I would
like to see adopted. I think that it would lose all of
itspoint and all of its value if there is a large segment
of our population who will wait for the chance to vote
against it. .

"I would like to seize the opportunity to do something of
that sort with unanimity."

Mr. Dunbar; "This is not George's area, Cross Mountain."

Mr. Roberts~ "Yes, George discussed it at the last
meeting."

Mr. Dunbar: "In the meantime apparently he is trying to
at least give the people of~hat community a chance to
express themselves, so he can report to the Board. It
does not seem quite right to me not to give George an
opportunity to make his report. If it was possible to
-have another meeting within a short time, to give George
a chance to at least com7 in and give his report, I would
feel a lot better about ~t."

.1
