<br />Study Objective <br /> <br />The objective of this study is to evaluate, at an appraisal <br /> <br /> <br />level of detail, the engineering and economic feasibility of the <br /> <br /> <br />Hardin Dam, including potential hydroelectric facilities. <br /> <br />Geographic Scope <br /> <br />The dam and reservoir shall be sited on the mainstem of the <br /> <br /> <br />South Platte River upstream of the town of Masters and downstream <br /> <br /> <br />from the town of Greeley. In determining potential uses for the <br /> <br /> <br />water developed by the dam, either directly or through exchange, <br /> <br /> <br />consideration shall be given to uses located in any portion of <br /> <br /> <br />the South Platte River Basin which lies below Chatfield Dam. <br /> <br /> <br />Diversions to the Republican River Basin shall not be <br /> <br /> <br />considered. <br /> <br />Required Evaluations <br /> <br />The study shall include: <br /> <br /> <br />(1) an appraisal level evaluation of the yield of the <br /> <br /> <br />subject reservoir assuming that it has a 1981 storage <br /> <br /> <br />decree, <br /> <br />(2) an analysis of the potential uses, including on-site <br />recreation and hydropower generation, and places of use <br /> <br />of the water which could be developed by the reservoir, <br /> <br />-2- <br />
