"Haven't we some newspaper men on the
Board who would like to go?"

"Mr. Nelson and ~tt. McCandless attended
the Watershed Congress just a short time ago
and I think they have had their fill of Wash-
ington. But if any of the Board members can
go we'll have to know almost immediately so
that we can make the necessary travel arrange-
ments and hotel reservations. Washington is
an extremely crowded place at this time of
the year."

. "Larry, I can go if I can get the Ground
Water Study Commission to postpone a meeting
set for the 24th. How about it, Dr. Clark?"

into the office after the Board meeting today,
we'll talk it over.

Another item we can take up is the place
for the next Board meeting. Mr. Stapleton
suggested that we have it the 29th of June.
It has been our custom to have these summer
meetings out of Denver. I would particularly
like to suggest to the Board two potential
trips this year, one would be to the Curecanti
Project area and the other through the Closed
Basin area of the San Luis Valley. I think
you would find. both those trips very informa-
ti ve and they'.will give you some conception of
the problems we are faced with both on the
Curecanti and the Closed Basin Drain area.

We have recently received a tentative
report on the Closed Basin Drain from the
Bureau of Reclamation and that project is
now under consideration by local interests
in the San Luis Valley,

As I say, Mr. Stapleton suggested the
29th of June. i'That I 1-TaS thinking about for
the next two meetings, if we held one on the
29th of June, to have that at Gunnison in con-
junction with the Upper Gunnison River Con-
servancy District, and then around the 20th or
somewhere thereabouts, perhaps the 24th of
August, have a meeting in the San Luis Valley
